Kansas Mineral Rights

Kansas mineral rights owners benefit from both oil and gas production. Natural gas mineral rights were first exploited in Kansas in 1922 in Seward county in the Hugoton embayment. The original well was abandoned at first because it did not produce oil, but later the the Independent Oil and Gas Company discovered natural gas with their Crawford No. 1 well.
